Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to join our team in Bohemia, NY. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in estimating for manufacturing, aerospace, defense, construction, or similar industries. You will play a critical role in project planning, cost analysis, and proposal development, helping to ensure competitive and accurate bids and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for complex projects from concept through final proposal.
• Analyze specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather input for estimates.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities; recommend value engineering options where applicable.
• Support pricing strategy, proposal development, and customer negotiations.
• Maintain and update cost estimating databases, tools, and historical data for future reference.
• Track actual costs versus estimated costs to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Stay current on market trends, materials pricing, and labor rates.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in cost estimating, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, construction, or a related field.
• Proven ability to create accurate estimates for complex, technical projects.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, RSMeans, Excel, ERP systems).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).

Work Environment:

• This is a fully on-site role based in Bohemia, NY .
• Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting.
